The Art Club is a monthly mystery club featuring an artist and one of their works.  Polls are held on Instagram monthly preceding the preorder to make the selection.

This is a leftover sock kit that has been reduced in price as it will not come with the coordinating stitch markers.  You will receive one 100g skein and its matching 20g mini skein!

May's kit features John Singer Sargent - Rio dell Angelo

John Singer Sargent was an American expatriate who spent much of his life in Europe.  He was considered one of the leading portrait painters of his generation as he worked as a society painter, depicting Edwardian-era luxury.  Although well known for his portraiture, Sargent also painted more than 2000 watercolors and displayed a familiarity with impressionism.  Among many other notable figures, Sargent painted portraits of United States Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.

"Cultivate an ever continuous power of observation. Wherever you are, be always ready to make slight notes of postures, groups and incidents. Store up in the mind... a continuous stream of observations from which to make selections later. Above all things get abroad, see the sunlight and everything that is to be seen." - John Singer Sargent

Each skein is hand-dyed with care in my smoke-free, cat-friendly home. High quality acid dyes are properly set before washing and rinsing twice to assure the color adheres correctly, however some bright or extreme colors may bleed slightly in the first wash.  To avoid this I recommend using room-temperature water and hand-wash the first time.  Due to the artistic process involved; each skein is a unique work of art and allow for small variations.   Machine wash on cool or hand-wash (recommended).  Lay flat to dry.

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors & images of our products.  We cannot guarantee that your device's display of any color will be accurate.   Props and books used in photos are not included.
